In Utrecht, the Netherlands. |
It's official: Judy and her Entrepreneurial Linguist workshops will come to Europe again this summer -- in August and September, to be precise. While we are still working on finalizing dates, we are already talking to some associations in several countries about coming to their neck of the woods to share what we know with their linguists. There are several workshops to choose from, including
Lessons from Business School: The Entrepreneurial Linguist,
Pricing Strategies for Translators and Interpreters,
10 Habits of Highly Successful Interpreters and Translators,
No Pain, No Gain: Active Marketing to Direct Clients,
Web 2.0 for Entrepreneurial Linguists, etc. Judy can also customize a keynote speech for you. Have a look at her workshops
here.
We will admit that we are a bit behind schedule in terms of setting our schedule in stone this year (it's been a crazy/busy year thus far), but the good news is that your association/organization still has plenty of time to
get in touch with Judy for a late summer workshop! Judy has had the pleasure of giving workshops and classes in Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Ireland, Scotland, etc. These are usually a lot of fun, and it's great to meet colleagues and connect with new friends! Some workshops have included once-in-a-lifetime adventures, such learning the
Scottish wedding dance. See you in Europe?

How exciting! Are you coming to Scotland again? I was really sorry to miss your workshop two years ago when I was ill, so I hope to see you somewhere this year.
@Marga: Hi there! I haven't been contacted by ITI Scotnet, but I would LOVE to come to Scotland again for sure if they invite me! Perhaps it's a good idea for you to propose it to them if you'd like? :)
I'd love to attend one of your workshops if you ever come to rome. However, if you are planning to include Southern Europe, end of July might not be the best time of the year. In Spain and in Italy, most people go on holiday (vacation) in the month spanning from the last week of July to the third week of August; in Italy, most businesses are closed for two weeks in August.
@Francesca: Thanks for your nice note! You are absolutely right about August, which is why we are thinking September for your area. :) We've exchanged a few e-mails with the Italian Association, but we have not yet set anything in stone. Perhaps it would make sense for you to contact them to tell them that you'd like to have this workshop (if you want)? We'd be delighted to go to Rome -- such a magical place!
Talk to me at your convenience; I would love to see you present for Translators in Residence at Évora University in Portugal.....
@Kevin: Sounds great -- thanks for your interest! I just sent you an e-mail. I (we) would love to come to Portugal -- sounds like that's your new home!
Hello, I am delighted to hear that you are coming to Czech Republic. I am looking forward to hearing about the date and other details in the future. :) It also makes me wonder whether you are going to visit only Prague or also other cities.
@Lada: Unfortunately, the Czech Republic is not on the list this year -- but that can change! I presented there in 2010 and it was great. I have not yet heard from the association that they are interested in having me again, but I will surely contact them to see if you'd like. Feel free to present this idea to them as well. :)
Sounds very exciting to me too and I would love to participate one of Judy's workshops. Will there be one in Germany this year?
@Britta: Thanks for your comment! We haven't made contact with anyone at BDÜ for this round yet, but perhaps you should? What's your state? Another option is maybe if you want to mention this post to your local professional development team (from your BDÜ chapter)? Just a thought! Would really love to come to Germany again.
